Whatever He Decides, We’re All On Board

Ted Lasso‘s co-creator Bill Lawrence has recently discussed the possibility of a fourth season for the beloved sports comedy-drama, noting that the decision rests with Jason Sudeikis.

In a new interview, Lawrence emphasized that Sudeikis holds the reins for the future of the Apple TV+ series.

“Whatever Jason feels like doing and whatever his decision is, we’re all down with it,” Lawrence shared with Collider. “Not only is he the star, but he’s also the head writer. His life would have to undergo a major overhaul, including a move to a foreign country with young children.”

Lawrence continued, saying, “It’s a big deal. So, as a fan, if someone says, ‘Oh, it’s gonna happen again,’ I’ll go nuts. As a partner, I’m on board with whatever he decides.”

Ted Lasso, which completed its three-season run on Apple TV+ in 2023, has generated much speculation regarding a potential fourth season or a spinoff. Warner Bros. TV boss Channing Dungey addressed these possibilities in June of this year.

“I think Jason Sudeikis is open to the idea, but he wants to ensure it’s the right idea, which I appreciate,” Dungey said. “We at Warner Bros appreciate, Apple appreciates, because you don’t want to do more just for the sake of it. You want to continue because there’s a story to tell.”

During its three-season tenure, Ted Lasso garnered multiple accolades, including 11 Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy.
