At 91 years old and with a career spanning nearly seven decades, Outlaw singer Willie Nelson has crossed paths with countless people. However, there is one individual he holds above all as his best friend, and it happens to be his spouse. Sitting on Nelson’s tour bus, the two musicians exchanged stories over coffee. Who’s your best friend in this world today?”

Besides being his best friend, Annie fulfills multiple roles in Nelson’s life. In a statement from May 2023, Nelson affectionately referred to her as his “pet rattler,” elaborating that she is his lover, wife, nurse, doctor, and bodyguard.
