Whitney Thore Works Her ‘Dating Muscles’ at Dog Park (Exclusive Clip)

It’s no secret that My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Thore has faced challenges in her love life over the past few years. However, an unexpected encounter at a dog park recently gave the TLC star a chance to practice her flirting skills.

Prior to the Aug. 27 episode of MBFFL, TLC shared an exclusive clip with Parade featuring Whitney’s surprising meeting with a significantly younger man while she was out with her friend, Jessica Powell.

As they sat on a bench, a man approached them and asked, “You guys want a drink or something?” Whitney and Jessica exchanged awkward glances, noting the coffees they already had. “Oh, I’m good,” Whitney responded courteously.

Jessica politely inquired about the man’s dog, and he pointed to a gray pooch nearby. In a candid confessional, Whitney admitted, “I’m confused, mild to moderate. Truthfully, I have never in my life ever been approached by a man in public who has asked to buy me a drink.”

The man, whose name was Simon, recounted how he came to own his dog. “She was actually one of my ex-girlfriend’s dog’s puppies. And I was like, ‘I’m not even gonna keep her,’ and I ended up keeping her,” he shared.

As the conversation shifted to various topics, Whitney asked Simon about his age, and she was visibly shocked when he said he was 22. “Do you like older women?” she asked, to which Simon confidently replied, “Yeah, seriously.”

After bidding Simon farewell, both women acknowledged that he was “really nice.” Later, Whitney reflected, “I don’t know if I’m attracted to or interested in Simon. It’s certainly not practical to be, considering that he’s like 20 years younger than me.”

Despite the impracticality, Whitney concluded, “I might as well work my dating muscles.”

New episodes of My Big Fat Fabulous Life air on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC and are also available for streaming on Max.
