Who Is Ms. Rachel’s Husband? Meet Aron Accurso

Ms. Rachel has a massive following thanks to her YouTube page, but her No. 1 fan is her husband Aron Accurso.

The former teacher, whose real name is Rachel Griffin Accurso, married the composer on July 23, 2016. Two years later, they welcomed their son, Thomas, who inspired the couple’s YouTube page. Their channel focuses on songs and video content rooted in speech therapy techniques.

Since Rachel’s rise to fame, she’s publicly raved about her husband. In a January 2024 Instagram tribute to Aron, she credited him for being a part of her success, writing, “There’s no Ms Rachel without Mr Aron.”

“When we got married we also vowed to support each other’s dreams and Aron has gone so above and beyond with this,” Rachel wrote. “I remember dating him and realizing being around him made me a better version of myself as well. He lifted me up. ❤️🥹 Also has helped me through two masters degrees in education now!”

While viewers know Aron for his talents on the children’s program, he has accomplished a lot on his own.

So who is Ms. Rachel’s husband? Here’s everything to know about Aron Accurso and his relationship with the YouTube sensation.

Aron graduated from the private liberal arts college in Minnesota with his bachelor’s degree in music theory/composition. During his time at St. Olaf, Aron performed in theater productions and sang in the choir.

In an August 2021 alumni profile on Aron, he spoke about what being a graduate of the school means to him.

“To me what it means to be an Ole is to be somebody who is caring — both supportive to other people, but also who cares about things in the world and helping people,” he said.

Before he appeared in Rachel’s educational videos, Aron gained experience on stage.

According to his website, he has Broadway credits as an associate musical director, associate conductor and rehearsal pianist for several projects. Aladdin, Nice Work If You Can Get It and Sister Act are among the different titles Aron’s been involved in.

When Rachel soared into fame, he quit his full-time job with Aladdin on Broadway and joined her. In May 2023, Rachel posted a video on Instagram of herself working with Aron and she celebrated his hard work.

“The amount of work Mr Aron does is extraordinary! Composer, co-script writer, arranger, producer, musician, pianist, puppeteer, editor, actor, singer, business partner – and always the most supportive husband, always believing in and supporting my dreams for the last 13 years!” she wrote.

That same year, Aron directed the Blippi episode titled Blippi & Ms Rachel Learn Vehicles.

Rachel and Aron collaborate on their creative projects and nurture their family from the Big Apple.

According to The New York Times, the couple first met sometime in 2010 after Rachel moved to New York City to earn her master’s degree in music education from New York University the year prior.

While working odd jobs and attending classes, she crossed paths with him at a Unitarian church on the Upper East Side. At the time, he was working on Broadway as keyboard 1 and rehearsal pianist on The Little Mermaid and as a rehearsal pianist on Billy Elliot: The Musical.

Since then, Rachel and Aron have welcomed their son, Thomas, and started the Ms. Rachel brand. Though she hails from Maine and he has roots in Colorado, it appears that N.Y.C. is now where they call home.

Rachel may be the star of the show, but she’s gotten help from Aron.

In March 2023, Rachel spoke to PEOPLE about how their show came to be. “I thought it would be great if there was a slow-paced, directive show that used some of the techniques [Thomas’] speech therapist used,” she said.

Together, she and Aron “learned a lot” from having Thomas in early intervention due to his speech delay. Early intervention is a national service that helps children meet developmental milestones.

“I have a background in education and my husband in Broadway, so we were great team,” she added.

Rachel has also credited Aron for bringing “excellence and creativity to” their Songs for Littles show with his talent in “songwriting, puppeteering, scriptwriting, incredible musical arrangements, underscoring, silly Mr Aron moments.”

Apart from Ms. Rachel programming, the pair worked together on an adult musical about mental health titled You Are Enough, which Rachel wrote the lyrics for and Aron worked on the music.

The three-part suite “was written to advocate for, and elevate conversations about, mental health awareness,” Aron explained on his website.

Rachel and Aron tied the knot on July 23, 2016, in South Portland, Maine.

In honor of Valentine’s Day in 2021, the former teacher reflected on the longtime relationship and how far they’ve come.

“We’ve been together 10 or 11 years now… I’ll have to ask him the year we met 🤣 He’d know better than me!” Rachel wrote on Instagram. “Lucky to be married to the most supportive, kind, caring, hilarious, brilliant, musical guy! The Bert to my Ernie! 💕🤣 (totally our personalities.).”

Rachel and Aron welcomed their son, Thomas, in 2018. Since then, the YouTube star has praised her husband for his dedication to fatherhood.

“Sometimes I get teary watching Aron with our son because I am so moved by seeing such an involved, fun, caring dad,” she wrote on Instagram in January 2024, revealing that she never had a strong father figure in her life as a child.

“I grew up with the most incredible single mom (who’s now married to my wonderful step dad) but it’s not something I had as a kid and it’s just so wonderful and so important,” she added. “Sometimes im still worried that I don’t deserve this but I do, you do — and it’s possible and wonderful. Thank you for everything, Aron. You’re my soulmate and I love you so, so, so much!”

Aside from his recurring role on Songs for Littles, Aron has played the piano on The Bachelorette, The View and Live with Kelly.

He also appeared on The Wendy Williams Show alongside American Idol finalists, and he had a brief stint on Smash, per his website.
