Who Was Sent Home on ‘The Bachelorette’ Hometowns? Catch Up Before Fantasy Suites

Are you ready to keep the “Jenn-ergy” going for what’s sure to be a very dramatic eighth week of this season of “The Bachelorette?”

Jenn is ABC’s first Asian-American Bachelorette. She was a fan-favorite on Joey Graziadei’s season of “The Bachelor” in January and began her own search for love eight weeks ago.

Of the three Florida men who arrived at “The Bachelorette” mansion during the first night on Monday, July 8, none are left. This season is flying by, and Jenn is now just a couple of episodes away from an engagement. Tonight’s episode features the much-anticipated fantasy suites.

Here’s how to catch up on season 21 of “The Bachelorette,” how to watch tonight’s fantasy suites episode, and what transpired during last week’s hometowns episode. Additionally, prepare yourself for Tuesday’s “Men Tell All” special.

The show airs every Monday night at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC. For those who prefer streaming, episodes of “The Bachelorette” season 21 are available on Hulu the Tuesday after they air live.

Last week’s hometown dates were a mix of heartwarming moments and a bit of messiness, a balance well-known to viewers of the show. Hometowns can range from meeting soon-to-be in-laws filled with surprises to not meeting the family at all due to unforeseen arguments. Last week, Jenn visited Texas, Connecticut, Washington, and California for these iconic dates.

Devin’s hometown date took Jenn to Houston, Texas. They started the day in a park, where he surprised her with a visit from his running club friends, who arrived smiling and wearing shirts with their faces on them. Jenn also met Devin’s dog, Charlie. After a chat in the park, they headed to Devin’s house, where she met his mom, dad, grandparents, step-dad, and brother. Devin’s mom felt positive about Jenn but expressed concerns about the other men still being in the picture. Devin professed his love to Jenn on his front porch, which delighted her, though she didn’t say “I love you” back but did tell him she’s “falling so hard” for him.

Jenn traveled to Fairfield, Connecticut, for Jeremy’s hometown date, even though he now resides in New York. They visited a unique grocery store called Stew Leonard’s, filled with animatronics, mascots, and a variety of snacks. The two of them lent a hand at the checkout and made a bouquet for Jeremy’s mom. At Jeremy’s house, Jenn met his mom, step-dad, sisters, and soon-to-be brother-in-law. Jeremy’s family’s main concern was whether they truly knew each other’s emotions deeply enough for such a serious commitment. Jeremy told Jenn he was falling for her, which made her happy, but she admitted that the day had been tough and left her uncertain.

Jonathan took Jenn to San Diego, California, although he lives in Los Angeles. They practiced lacrosse together on an empty field, a nod to their shared college sport, and then enjoyed glasses of champagne. At Jonathan’s house, Jenn met his family, who were skeptical about the quick progression of their relationship. Jonathan’s family seemed concerned that he might be holding back his emotions.

In Tacoma, Washington, Marcus introduced Jenn to his closest friends and fellow Army rangers. Jenn also met Marcus’s little sister and some close friends he considers family. He opened up about the difficulty he had staying open about his feelings. Jenn talked with Marcus’s mother-figure and sister, voicing her anxiety over not knowing his true feelings. At the end of their date, they both expressed that they were falling for each other.

The fantasy suites date night is a significant tradition in “The Bachelorette,” providing couples a chance to spend uninterrupted time together away from cameras and producers. This intimate setting allows them to deepen their connection. Past memorable Fantasy Suites moments include intense confrontations and revelations of feelings.

After the hometown visits, Jenn had to make the heartbreaking decision to send one man home. The three men who made it to the fantasy suites are Devin from Texas, Jonathan from California, and Marcus from North Carolina. Jeremy, a 29-year-old Real Estate Investor, was sent home.

The “Men Tell All” special will air on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC. As of Monday morning, the lineup for this special episode hasn’t been released yet.

In other news, following his emotional exit, 30-year-old day trader Grant Ellis has been announced as the lead for season 29 of “The Bachelor”. Ellis is looking forward to a journey filled with romance, adventure, and genuine connections, hoping to find a partner who shares his values of loyalty, humor, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He’ll be the second Black Bachelor in the show’s history, following Matt James in season 25.

Bachelor Nation fans can also look forward to “The Golden Bachelorette,” premiering this fall. This new show will feature Joan Vassos, a 61-year-old private-school administrator from Maryland, and promises a fresh take on the beloved format.
