Why Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Avoid Posting About Their Daughters Online

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds lead an unusual lifestyle as celebrities, but they want their four kids to be able to make their own choices. “My husband and I chose a profession and a side effect of that is your personal life is public,” Lively told Marie Claire U.K. in 2016 (via Refinery29), when they had James and she was pregnant with Inez. “Our child hasn’t had the opportunity to choose whether or not she wants her personal life to be public or not.”

As parents, it is one of their priorities to allow their kids to have a normal childhood — or as normal as their lavish life allows. That’s what they had, and that’s what they want their children to have, too. “So we can’t really throw her into the lion’s den that is L.A., not that we really want to,” she remarked. To ensure their privacy, Lively and Reynolds refrain from sharing photos of their kids on social media. Additionally, Lively has taken issue with accounts that post images of her children.

In 2021, the actor from “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” called out the Hollywood Star Kids Instagram account for posting paparazzi photos of her with her daughters. “This is so disturbing,” she commented under the post (via E! News). “I’ve personally shared with you that these men stalk and harass my children. And you are still posting. You said you would stop.” The post was subsequently deleted.
