A few months prior to their yacht outing, the Obamas, along with Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, shared dinner in Greece, as reported by the Daily Mail. The former President and First Lady were also accompanied by their two daughters.

The Obamas have a well-documented history of spending time on yachts with Hanks. In April 2017, they were seen enjoying a luxurious getaway on a 450-foot yacht in Tahiti. Joining them on this star-studded trip were Oprah Winfrey and Bruce Springsteen. Post-vacation, Winfrey kept details of their trip under wraps. “What happens on the boat, stays on the boat,” she humorously told People at the time.

In the same month that photos of their extravagant yacht cruise surfaced, Hanks shared snippets about his experience with the Obamas. During his appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” in April 2017, he described the Polynesian adventure as extraordinary. “Look, imagine what it could’ve been like, triple it. It was off the scale, fantastic,” Hanks enthused. He, too, kept specifics to himself, jokingly referring to his stories as “classified.”
