Why Prince William Won’t Join Prince Harry in New York Next Month

The Duke of Sussex will travel to New York in September to participate in various engagements with his patronages and beloved charities.

Although the exact dates of Prince Harry’s trip are still unconfirmed, a spokesperson has announced that he will be in the Big Apple during the UN General Assembly High-level Week and Climate Week, scheduled from September 22 to 29.

Harry’s visit coincides with his brother, the Prince of Wales’s initiative. The Earthshot Prize Innovation summit is also set to occur in New York on September 24.

While Prince William attended the event in the US last year, it has been confirmed that he will not be attending the 2024 summit.

He also missed the 2022 event, which took place just weeks after the late Queen Elizabeth’s death.

The fourth Earthshot Prize Awards will occur in Cape Town, South Africa, in November. William is expected to attend the awards, given his presence at previous events in London (2021), Boston (2022), and Singapore last year.

William will resume his royal duties next week following his summer break with the Princess of Wales and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

The Prince of Wales is scheduled to visit an exhibition that allows artists affected by homelessness to share their stories.

William will attend the “Homelessness: Reframed” exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery in London on September 5, where he will meet some of the featured artists.

The future King launched a homelessness program last year, aiming to show a route to ending homelessness. The program has collaborated with the Eleven Eleven Foundation to create this exhibition.

A Kensington Palace spokesperson stated that the exhibition “brings to life the breadth and complexities of homelessness, aiming to help the public engage with and better understand the stories of those who have experienced it.

“During his visit, His Royal Highness will meet artists who have contributed newly commissioned pieces for the exhibition, along with those with lived experiences who have inspired some of the artwork.”

It is not known when the Princess of Wales will return to public life amid her ongoing cancer treatment.

Kate was last seen publicly on Sunday as she, William, and George attended the service at Crathie Kirk Church with the King and Queen in Balmoral, Scotland.
