Why Sunny Hostin Is Unexpectedly Absent from ‘The View’

The View experienced a slight shake-up on its Monday, July 29 episode. At the beginning of the show, moderator Whoopi Goldberg informed the audience that Sunny Hostin would not be joining the lineup. “First of all, do not get freaked out. Sunny is not here today, but she appears later in the show because we were able to tape some things with her. So you’ll see her in the show, but she’s not here at the show, right?” Goldberg clarified.

True to Goldberg’s words, Hostin appeared in a pre-recorded segment with Unstable stars Rob Lowe and John Owen Lowe—a well-known father-son duo in Hollywood. However, Hostin was notably absent for the “Hot Topic” discussion, particularly Donald Trump’s latest campaign speech controversy.

While Goldberg did not provide a reason for Hostin’s absence during the live show, The View‘s social media page later clarified that she was out due to illness, but reassured fans that it was not related to Covid.

As of now, it remains uncertain when Hostin will return to her regular spot at the table. However, the social media post suggests that her return could happen as soon as this week.
