San Diego Comic-Con was full of wrestling news this week, and WOW Women of Wrestling had some exciting updates to share. During the WOW Women of Wrestling panel, it was revealed that WOW has entered into a brand new partnership with Pluto TV. This partnership will see the launch of a new WOW channel on Pluto TV, just in time for season 3, which premieres on September 14th.

The upcoming Pluto TV channel will serve as the exclusive home for all WOW content. Fans can look forward to watching seasons 1 and 2 on this new platform, in addition to the highly anticipated season 3. Moreover, the channel will feature several WOW documentaries, effectively making it the ultimate destination for WOW enthusiasts.

In addition to broadcasting seasons 1 and 2, the channel will air two unique documentaries: “The Origin of WOW – Women of Wrestling” and “My Road To WOW – The Secrets of the Superheroes.”

An insight into the origins of WOW was shared by co-owner Jeanie Buss in a clip from “WOW: The History of Women’s Wrestling.” Buss recounted how she was introduced to Women of Wrestling through David McLane, who persistently invited her to one of the shows. After finally attending, she quickly became captivated by the performances. “I couldn’t believe the stunts, the athleticism, and the talent of these women. I was absolutely humbled by it, and I fell in love with the sport,” said Buss.

The documentary “WOW! The History of Women’s Wrestling,” produced by Fishbowl Worldwide Media, delves into the fascinating journey of women’s wrestling. From its humble beginnings as a sideshow act to the creation of the first all-female wrestling league GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling) in the 1980s, and finally, to the successful establishment of WOW today.

Fans will hear firsthand accounts from GLOW and WOW founder David McLane, former professional wrestler and WOW trainer Selina Majors, former wrestler and WOW executive producer AJ Mendez, and the impressive WOW Superheroes. The documentary also covers the challenges of featuring women’s wrestling on TV and the dramatic network disputes that once threatened the series.

Jeanie Buss, who is also the Governor and co-owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, is portrayed as a key figure in WOW’s revival. She partnered with David McLane to realize their vision of making an all-women wrestling organization a significant entity in global sports entertainment.

The documentary comprehensively reviews how the culture around women’s wrestling evolved from the 1980s to the present day. It examines shifts in public perception and underscores why now is the perfect time for WOW Women of Wrestling to step into the spotlight as a true game-changer in the industry.

Wrestling fans are eagerly awaiting the launch of the new WOW channel on Pluto TV, set to go live just ahead of season 3’s release on September 14th. This partnership promises to deliver a treasure trove of content for both new and old fans of WOW Women of Wrestling.
