‘Yellowstone’ Star Files Lawsuit Alleging Animal Abuse

Yellowstone star Dawn Olivieri has taken legal action against several people who she claims are spreading false allegations of horse abuse, which she argues are damaging her brand partnerships.

Olivieri, known for her role as Sarah Atwood on Yellowstone, has filed a lawsuit against multiple online influencers in the horse community. Atwood is described by Paramount as a confident, corporate shark who engages in a romance with Jamie Dutton in Season 5.

Offscreen, Olivieri dedicates much of her time to Moon Mountain, a non-profit organization she founded that rescues animals, with a particular focus on saving kill pen horses. Moon Mountain’s mission, according to its website, is to “provide land, shelter, food, care, and love to any rescue animal who needs and deserves a second chance.”

According to reports from TMZ, the lawsuit filed by Olivieri claims that false information has been circulated about her treatment of horses at Moon Mountain. These false claims include accusations that she forces horses to drink dirty water, supports their starvation, and has even killed newborn Arabian horses.

Olivieri states that these allegations have directly harmed her relationships with various brands. For example, she had a promotional campaign planned with Dickies that fell through due to the negative publicity generated by what she describes as a coordinated effort to discredit her.

In her legal filing, Olivieri also accuses the defendants of cyberstalking, trespassing on her property at Moon Mountain, and making terroristic threats. She cites an instance where one of the defendants allegedly threatened to “unalive” her.

Before filing the lawsuit, Olivieri attempted to address the situation privately by reaching out to the involved parties, but her efforts were unsuccessful.

In addition to her current role on Yellowstone, Olivieri has a notable acting career. She previously portrayed Claire Dutton in the Yellowstone prequel 1883 and had roles in other popular television series including Heroes as Lydia, House of Lies as Monica Talbot, and appearances in True Blood, The Vampire Diaries, Stargate: Atlantis, and How I Met Your Mother.

Olivieri’s lawsuit is ongoing, and she is seeking to clear her name and protect her reputation and professional relationships from what she describes as unfounded and damaging claims.
