Young Thug Laughs Off Rich Homie Quan Question During YSL Woody Trial

Lil Woody’s stint as the star witness in the YSL RICO trial concluded with his final testimony on Sept. 3.

On the stand, the prosecution questioned Woody, also known as Kenneth Copeland, about the relationship between Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan. “Yes, no, I don’t recall. Did Thug have an issue with Rich Homie Quan bringing members of If Gang to his apartment?” the prosecution inquired. Instead of answering, Woody redirected the question toward Young Thug, asking, “Thug, did you have an issue with Rich Homie…?” This incomplete question led to laughter in the courtroom, including from Young Thug himself.

Woody had earlier admitted to being involved in the shooting of Rich Homie Quan’s father’s barbershop in Atlanta’s Bankhead neighborhood. A clip of this confession went viral, as Woody turned to the judge to ask, “Your honor, you said nothing I say can be used against me?” After receiving confirmation, Woody confessed, “Me and Threat shot up Rich Homie Quan daddy barbershop on Bankhead.” He further explained to prosecutors, “I don’t know what happened with Threat and Rich Homie Quan, but I’ma ride with my brother and they was beefin’ and yeah, we pulled up and did that.”

The prosecutors had aimed to use the former YSL member’s testimony to solidify their RICO charges, but Woody’s statements have added further complexity to an already convoluted trial. When asked again if YSL was a gang, Woody firmly stated, “And it still ain’t a gang.”

As the longest-running trial in Georgia history continues, more updates are expected to unfold.
