Yung Miami Reacts to Criticism of Her New Song Snippet

Yung Miami has addressed the critical responses to her new single, questioning why fans seem to hold her to a different standard.

The City Girl shared a preview of an upcoming track on Instagram Live on Saturday (July 27), drawing mixed reactions. Some listeners were not impressed with the club-ready, dance-inspired song.

The Neighborhood Talk shared a snippet of the track on Instagram. Yung Miami quickly jumped into the comments to defend herself and her new music.

One user remarked, “Boring same thing again and again.” Another user expressed support for JT, Miami’s City Girls partner, suggesting she deserves more spotlight for her new project, City Cinderella. The comment read: “Can JT please have a moment by herself??? Damn! Her album just dropped.”

Yung Miami responded to these and other criticisms with a straightforward query: “With me is where y’all draw the line??? LOL ok.”

This isn’t the first time Yung Miami has faced backlash for her musical pursuits.

Last month, she cited Rihanna as an inspiration as she continues to build her brand, though not everyone supported her aspirations.

The Florida rapper reshared a social-media post by The Shade Room about the “Umbrella” singer’s latest business endeavor. Alongside the headline “#TSR Beauty: She’s Expanding! Rihanna Announces The Launch Of Her New Haircare Line,” Miami wrote: “WHO I ASPIRE TO BE!!!! THAT BAG & STATUS DIFFERENT.”

After Hollywood Unlocked posted a screenshot of her IG Story, fans quickly filled the comments with mixed reactions. One fan commented, “Please keep Rihanna’s name out of your mouth! You have miles/years to go before you’d be anything like our Riri!!” Another added, “Girl, you’re aiming too high with all that ratchet stuff you do. Riri would never.”

However, some fans came to her defense with supportive comments like, “Yung Miami can achieve anything she sets her mind to!” and “How can y’all have anything negative to say about this? She’s inspired!”

These goals come at a significant time in Miami’s career. Back in May, she seemingly hinted that the City Girls might no longer be a unit.

The relationship between her and JT has experienced several ups and downs in recent months, potentially leading to a permanent split.

During an interview with Complex in late May, she discussed the poor commercial performance of their last album and how the duo has grown apart.

“I think when the City Girls album dropped and it didn’t do too well, and we were trying to do our press run. You know, the whole rollout of the album was just so bad because we were in two different spaces,” she explained.

“We’re older now, and she was doing her own thing on the West Coast, I’m in Miami doing my own thing. I felt like naturally, when she’s doing her own thing, it works for her. And when I’m doing my own thing, it works for me.”
