Zac Brown’s Split From Estranged Wife Just Got More Complicated

Zac Brown is leveling serious allegations against his estranged wife, Kelly Yazdi. According to US Weekly, the country singer asserts that Yazdi breached a confidentiality agreement through her recent Instagram posts and allegedly stole confidential business information from him.

Court documents obtained by Us Weekly claim that Yazdi, aged 33, took “confidential information” from the Zac Brown Collective (ZBC) soon after their separation was announced in December 2023. The documents allege that she knowingly forwarded highly sensitive business documents to her personal email, even though she was aware she was leaving both the relationship and the business.

“She forwarded to her personal email address highly sensitive documents concerning Mr. Brown and ZBC’s business,” the court documents state. “Ms. Yazdi stole documents concerning a yet-to-be-revealed song Mr. Brown was preparing with another artist. … She also took documents related to Mr. Brown’s and ZBC’s financials, business valuations, and other highly sensitive information she had no right to take and no legitimate reason for possessing.”

The documents further allege that Yazdi took these actions “in an apparent attempt to gain leverage” over Zac Brown during their divorce proceedings. Brown is seeking “injunctive relief and damages arising” from these “blatant violations of confidentiality obligations.”

The filing also accuses Yazdi of launching a “defamatory social media campaign” filled with “false” claims and additional breaches of confidentiality agreements. A May post from Yazdi referred to her “rebirth” after the relationship, mentioning her liberation from “narcissistic abuse,” which included “threatening,” “gaslighting,” and an attempt to stop her from posting photos on Instagram. Although Brown was not named in these posts, the court documents argue that the “content and timing” of the messages, coupled with the public nature of their marriage, made it clear she was alluding to Brown.

This latest filing is part of an increasingly tangled split. A judge has already ruled the couple’s prenuptial agreement is valid, despite multiple claims from both sides. Additionally, Brown maintains that Yazdi’s ZBC salary and the paid mortgage on her Hawaii home were benefits she received during their short marriage.

In sum, the brief four-month marriage between Brown and Yazdi appears to have been fraught with complications that extend beyond the personal into the realm of business entanglements.
