13-Year-Old Amazes Judges, Receives Unanimous “Yes”

A 13-year-old named Mia Soleil Sanchez sang a fiery rendition of Billie Eilish’s Happier Than Ever and earned four votes into the live rounds.

In an early release video, the teen stepped onto the stage to perform the 2021 hit with pure emotion and talent that shocked Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell, and Sofía Vergara. She effortlessly flowed through the song and showed a giant stage presence as she didn’t just sing the lyrics. She felt them.

Mia pulled the entire audience into her performance, and they cheered her on through a standing ovation.

Following the song, the judges stood with the crowd to congratulate Mia on her stunning AGT audition. Then, they took turns offering her praise.

“Mia Soleil Sanchez,” Howie said. “I think that’s a name that people are gonna know tomorrow. I love everything about you, and I think America and the world will love you too.”

“I think you’re so cute,” Heidi added. “And you’re a very gutsy young lady. I’m very proud of you. Well done.”

Sofía didn’t need to say much to sum up her thoughts on the performance. She simply shared that she believes Mia will soon be “a star.”

“You know what was cool is that you kind of grew with the song,” said Simon. “And that’s not easy. I think that means that you’ve got great taste. You know where you’re going. So I really, really, really like this audition.”

After they shared their words, the judges happily gave Mia four “yes” votes to give her a chance to become Season 19’s winner.
