23 individuals arrested for setting up encampment on campus during protests, reports IU

The Indiana University announced nearly two dozen arrests related to an encampment in Dunn Meadow. Individuals were warned multiple times to remove their tents and canopies, but were eventually arrested for resisting law enforcement and criminal trespassing. The university has not confirmed if any students were among those detained, but stated it will support peaceful protests that follow university policy. Police responded to inform the individuals that they could protest but not build structures in violation of university policy. Arrests were made after repeated verbal warnings to remove the structures.
