24 years after their deaths, mother and daughter’s bodies discovered following deathbed confession

A man on his deathbed confessed to killing a mother and daughter 24 years ago, leading to the recovery of their remains this week. Susan Carter and her 10-year-old daughter Natasha “Alex” Carter went missing in August 2000. Their bodies were found in the suspect Larry Webb’s West Virginia backyard on the same day he died in custody. The mother and daughter had disappeared while living in Webb’s home during a custody battle. Webb confessed to the killings, explaining in detail how he had buried the bodies. Susan and Alex Carter’s remains were uncovered with the help of a landscaper. Webb confessed because he was near death. He died before the bodies were found, in what was described as a poetic ending.
