Andy Cohen Suggests Solutions to Fix ‘RHONJ’

Andy Cohen is exploring potential solutions to address the severe issues plaguing RHONJ. As Season 14 kicked off, it was clear that the cast was too divided for the show to continue as it was, and production teams were aware of this. Discussions started shifting towards a reboot, but what are the other options available? More details on this below.

The women of RHONJ have had their share of fights, but Season 14 has set new records for hostility. Teresa Giudice and her brother Joe Gorga are not on speaking terms, which extends to Teresa’s relationship with her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga. This division has led to separate parties and events, forcing cast members to choose sides and making filming exceedingly difficult. While some argue that the show doesn’t need the Teresa and Melissa drama to be exciting, it appears their presence still plays a crucial role in the dynamics of the show.

Andy Cohen acknowledged that the show could not continue in this manner. Talks about a reboot started to gain traction, especially after the reunion was canceled, which left fans concerned. The last time a reunion was canceled—for RHONY after Season 13—the show went on an indefinite hiatus before being rebooted with an entirely new cast. Could this be what’s in store for RHONJ? According to Collider, Andy is now discussing the future of RHONJ. He had previously mentioned that there would be a hiatus between seasons before making any decisions.

Now, he appears to have some solutions to salvage the show. Speaking on Jeff Lewis Has Issues, Andy mentioned that there are “four different ways” to save the show:

“When the stars don’t want to be in the same galaxy, that’s not sustainable. I think anything is an option.”

This statement hints at a reboot being one of the possibilities to keep the franchise alive. Andy further elaborated on the four ways:

“I think there are four different ways that we could go with that show. And I think you could probably figure out what they are. We are going to let this season play out. We will all talk. We’ll do the focus group stuff. We’ll do all the stuff we do. And we’ll probably do a bunch of casting. And we’ll take our time.”

Bravo and Andy are not in a hurry to make changes, recognizing that RHONJ is a fan favorite, and they do not want to make any hasty decisions.

Since there will be no RHONJ reunion, Andy Cohen clarified that reunions are typically used to bring the cast together. As the season concluded, it became apparent that this was not necessary. Hence, a typical reunion was scrapped, and an alternate reunion special will be produced instead. Allegedly, the two friend groups will watch the finale together and provide their commentary, giving both sides a chance to present their views uniquely. It’s also rumored to be the shortest season of the show yet, but time will reveal how it all unfolds.

What do you think the future holds for the series? Should there be a new cast, an end to the show, or just the removal of a few members? Share your thoughts in the comments below and catch RHONJ on Sundays on Bravo.
