Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt‘s son, Pax Jolie-Pitt, encountered a scary situation after he crashed his electric bicycle into a car on a busy L.A. street, according to TMZ.

Pax, 20, was riding his e-bike Monday around 5 PM on Los Feliz Blvd., a heavily trafficked street during rush hour. As he approached a red light, he collided with the back of a car stopped at the intersection, according to law enforcement sources.

Witnesses reported that the driver of the car immediately got out to check on Pax, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Police and paramedics soon arrived at the scene, where Pax was experiencing hip pain and appeared to have suffered a head injury. He was promptly taken to an L.A. hospital for treatment.

Medical personnel feared that Pax might have a minor brain bleed due to the accident. Fortunately, the latest information suggests that he is in stable condition and might be able to go home later tonight.

Pax, who is the fourth of Angelina and Brad’s six children, has recently been spotted around L.A. on a BMX-style e-bike, often without a helmet.

California helmet laws vary depending on the class of the bicycle, making it unclear if Pax was legally required to wear a helmet for his specific e-bike. What is apparent, however, is that a helmet would have been beneficial during this incident.

Attempts to reach Angelina Jolie’s representatives for comments have not yet yielded any responses.

Pax has tried his hand at acting, with roles including a voice-over in “Kung Fu Panda 3” and an uncredited appearance in his mom’s Disney film, “Maleficent.”
