Arizona State Senator Charged in Fake Electors Scheme Appointed to RNC Position

Arizona state Sen. Jake Hoffman, a fake elector charged in the 2020 election subversion case, has been elected as a Republican National Committee national committeeman for Arizona. Hoffman, along with former President Donald Trump’s allies, was indicted by a grand jury for efforts to overturn the election. Hoffman had urged former Vice President Pence to delay certifying Arizona’s electors decided by the popular vote. Despite his indictment, Hoffman maintains his innocence and vows to defend himself. Other Trump allies, including Boris Epshteyn and Rudy Giuliani, have also been indicted. Trump himself is not charged, but is referred to as “Unidicted Coconspirator 1” in the indictment.
