Arrest made in connection with ‘ambush’ of L.A. County deputy

Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna announced that a gang member shot Deputy Samuel Aispuro while he was on his motorcycle at a stoplight. Aispuro was shot once in an ambush but was able to radio for help. After a manhunt, Raymundo Duran was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and possession of a firearm. Detectives connected Duran to the shooting and he is now in jail on $1 million bail. Luna praised witnesses who helped Aispuro and stated that without his bulletproof vest, the case would have been a murder investigation. Aispuro is recovering at home with his family.
