Arrests Made in Home Break-Ins of Indian and South Asian Homes in Massachusetts and Rhode Island – NBC Boston

Four people suspected of orchestrating sophisticated break-ins in Indian and South Asian homes in Massachusetts were arrested in Rhode Island. Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan called them a “very sophisticated ring of homebreakers,” with victims being traumatized and robbed of their heritage. The burglaries totaled 43 across 25 communities, resulting in over $4 million in stolen goods. The suspects used wifi jammers to target high-value items in these homes due to their cultural heritage. Authorities are considering hate crime charges. The break-ins occurred between July 2018 and March 2024 in various towns across Massachusetts.
