Aurora man charged with killing Chicago Police Officer Luis Huesca has arrest warrant issued

An arrest warrant was issued for Xavier L. Tate Jr., who is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Officer Luis Huesca in Gage Park. Tate was previously charged with criminal trespass in March. Huesca was attacked on his way home from work, still wearing his uniform. His SUV was stolen, and his gun and badge were missing. Surveillance videos were issued for a person of interest. Huesca’s death was formally classified as a line-of-duty death on his birthday. His wake and funeral services will be held in Oak Lawn and Chicago.
