Authorities in Washington state confirm the second body discovered at former police officer’s residence belongs to the kidnapped child’s mother and his girlfriend.

The second body found at the home of former Washington state school resource officer Elias Huizar was identified as his 17-year-old girlfriend, Angelica Santos, and mother of his 1-year-old son. Huizar died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after leading Oregon police on a vehicle chase. Santos was also a victim of child rape. Huizar had a protection order filed against him by Santos. He was previously charged with second-degree rape but released on bond. Troopers from Oregon State Police involved in the pursuit have been placed on leave after the incident, which resulted in Huizar’s death from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
