Authorities say the owner of the Michigan building that exploded was arrested at the airport while attempting to leave the US.

Noor Noel Kestou, owner of a Detroit business that exploded, killing a man, was arrested at JFK airport while trying to depart for Hong Kong. The March 4 explosion at Goo, a vaping distributor, killed Turner Lee Salter. Kestou faces involuntary manslaughter charges. Authorities suspect he tried to flee the country. Kestou received a permit for the building in September 2022. He has been released on bond with a GPS tether. A probable cause hearing is set for May 7. Kestou’s attorney did not comment on the case.
