Bad Bunny labels Pedro Pierluisi and Jenniffer González’s political campaign as a “joke” – Metro Puerto Rico

The Puerto Rican Rag Picker Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, better known as Bad Bunny, took to his social networks this Sunday to express his dissatisfaction with how the main leaders of the New Progressive Party (PNP), Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia and Jennifer Gonzalez Columbus, are carrying out their political campaigns.

Through the platform, Bad Bunny commented, “Political campaigns have always been a joke, but in these they have dropped the ball…”. The Puerto Rican artist emphasized that both the resident commissioner in Washington and the governor of Puerto Rico are playing roles similar to those seen in “The Campaign”, an American comedy about political candidates competing for the same seat in the United States Congress in North Carolina.

Furthermore, the film, released in 2012, depicts an electoral campaign full of tricks that the candidates use to win votes. Bad Bunny added, “JGo (Jennifer Gonzalez) and (Pedro) Pierluisi look like The Campaign 2 hahaha wow”.

In the past, the Vegabajeño artist has used his concerts as a platform to express his discontent towards the government, especially regarding energy service, teachers’ and police salaries, school closures, and the lack of access to a decent health system. In 2019, Bad Bunny led protests demanding the resignation of the then-governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rosello. Additionally, in the 2020 elections, Bad Bunny campaigned on social networks encouraging young people to vote.
