‘BIP’ Star’s Emotional Reunion With Firefighter Who Delivered Her Son

BIP alum Jade Roper Tolbert, who is married to Tanner Tolbert, recently shared a touching reunion with the firefighter who helped deliver their son, Brooks. The couple, who met on the reality show, have three children together. However, the birth of Brooks didn’t go as planned.

In 2019, Jade Roper Tolbert was expecting her second child. Two weeks before her due date, Jade and Tanner were at home watching The Bachelorette when Jade’s water broke and she began having contractions.

Before the couple could even reach their car to head to the hospital, the baby was already on its way. Jade found herself in an unexpected situation. While in her closet getting dressed after a bath, she noticed that the baby’s head was already out.

Tanner called 911 and received instructions from the dispatcher on what to do until help arrived. First responders, including EMTs and firefighters, arrived and helped deliver Brooks Tolbert. Brooks joined his older sister, Emerson, and was later followed by another brother, Reed.

In 2023, Jade experienced a heartbreaking miscarriage and revealed that it is unlikely the couple will have more children.

As Brooks’s fifth birthday approached, his parents decided to take him on a memorable visit to the firehouse to meet the firefighters who delivered him.

Brooks had the honor of being a firefighter for a day at Fire Station 67 in Mission Viejo, Orange County, California. Local news documented the heartfelt reunion between Brooks and the firefighters.

Jade reflected on the moment the first responders arrived at her home five years earlier, expressing relief knowing that help had arrived to take care of them. She described the reunion as a “beautiful moment” and highlighted her gratitude, especially towards Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Brian Sandlin.

“I feel like five is a big deal when you’re a kid, to turn five. And so it’s special to have him come here and meet — especially Brian — to meet someone who helped him come into this world.”

The reunion was also a special moment for Capt. Sandlin. He shared that such positive encounters bring to light the meaningful impact of their work as firefighters.
