Black Celebrities Supporting Kamala Harris – Essence

Last Sunday, following President Biden’s announcement that he would not pursue the Democratic nomination in the ongoing presidential race, a wave of support for Vice President Kamala Harris emerged from Black celebrities. Among the notable figures showing their backing were Beyoncé, Viola Davis, Cardi B, and Barack and Michelle Obama, all taking to social media to endorse Harris’s candidacy.

Kamala Harris expressed her gratitude and determination in a public statement: “On behalf of the American people, I thank Joe Biden for his extraordinary leadership as President of the United States and for his decades of service to our country.
