‘Blood and Honey’ Spinoff Unveils First Poster

The Poohniverse is set to expand further. Following commercial successes with two films in the Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey franchise, Jagged Edge Productions is exploring new public domain characters to infuse with a horror twist. Their latest venture is an upcoming feature titled Pinocchio: Unstrung, a chilling retelling of Carlo Collodi’s classic tale.

Jagged Edge has officially released a movie poster for the feature, showcasing a slasher-inspired Pinocchio who breaks free from his puppet-strings to embark on a deadly spree. This poster offers a chilling peek into what’s next. You can view it below.

“The film will embrace practical effects at every opportunity, ranging from the doll itself to the film’s title card,” revealed Unstrung’s director Rhys Frake-Waterfield in a conversation with Bloody Disgusting. “With a budget significantly higher than my last film, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, I’m aiming to make this the definitive Pinocchio horror film and my best movie to date. Exciting cast announcements will follow shortly!”

Earlier this year, Jagged Edge producer Scott Chambers disclosed to ComicBook their hope to eventually cross all these characters in an Avengers: Endgame-style horror film.

“We’re creating a universe,” Chambers commented back in March. “My dream movie has always been having characters like Leatherface, Hellraiser, and Chucky all in one film. I always thought it would never happen, but now I can do it. That’s where we’re heading with Peter Pan, with Pinocchio, with Bambi, and they’ll all eventually cross paths in an insane crossover.”

Chambers continued, “This is 100% the goal. When you watch these films, they’re all introductory movies. So Winnie the Pooh, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Bambi—we’ve either recently made them or we are currently working on them. Keep an eye out for easter eggs; they’re scattered throughout these movies. These worlds all exist within the same universe.”

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey is available for streaming on Peacock, while its sequel can be viewed on Amazon Prime Video.
