Blue Exorcist Unveils Special Rin Trailer for Season 4

Blue Exorcist is building excitement for the anime’s return with a special trailer showcasing Rin Okumura’s growth since the series began. Earlier this year, Blue Exorcist made a triumphant return with its highly anticipated third season, which adapted a brand new arc. But the end of the Shimane Illuminati Saga was just the beginning, as Blue Exorcist is set to return for a fourth season with two new arcs on the horizon.

The first significant arc of Season 4, titled Blue Exorcist -Beyond the Snow Saga-, will debut later this Fall. It’s the first of two new arcs planned for the near future. The series is gearing up for a massive wave of battles when it returns this October, and the special trailer is getting fans ready for the journey ahead. Blue Exorcist -Beyond the Snow Saga- will launch Season 4 this October as part of the Fall 2024 anime schedule. Following this, the series will continue with Blue Exorcist -The Blue Night Saga- in January as part of the Winter 2025 season. The fourth season sees the return of some key talents: Daisuke Yoshida as director, Toshiya Ono writing the scripts, Yurie Oohigashi providing character designs, and Kohta Yamamoto and Hiroyuki Sawano composing the music. The events of the Shimane Illuminati Saga are teased as follows: “Rin and his friends successfully defeated the Impure King after his revival in Kyoto and have returned to their daily lives at True Cross Academy. However, the Knights of the True Cross begin receiving an increasing number of consultations about demons as a wave of strange events starts to spread across the world. Meanwhile, Rin and the other Exwires work to solve the mysterious phenomenon plaguing their school.

As the True Cross Academy Festival takes place, Lucifer, the King of Light and Commander-in-Chief of the Illuminati, suddenly appears. He declares war on the Knights of the True Cross with the intention to resurrect the demon god Satan and merge the realm of humans, Assiah, with the realm of demons, Gehenna. To achieve this, he declares that Izumo is necessary for a specific ‘plan.'”
