Bobby Bones Agrees with Julianne Hough on His ‘DWTS’ 2018 Dancing Skills

“Dancing with the Stars” winner Bobby Bones is taking responsibility for winning the Mirrorball Trophy in 2018, despite acknowledging he was “the worst dancer.”

In an Instagram video posted Monday, the 44-year-old radio host responded to remarks made by “DWTS” co-host Julianne Hough and country singer Mickey Guyton on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” the previous night. They had expressed their disagreement with his Season 27 win.

“I was the worst dancer! I take pride in that,” Bones admitted. “Now I tried as hard as anybody in the history of the show but I can’t dance now, couldn’t dance then.”

He conceded that it was his fanbase, rather than his dancing prowess, that propelled him and dancer Sharna Burgess to victory.

“We did it together. I’m the greatest champion ever. I didn’t say I was the greatest dancer, but the greatest champion ever, because I’m the man of the people,” Bones stated. “I’m the man that you guys selected.”

“Julianne Hough, no slander from me,” he clarified, mentioning he thinks she’s “cool” but appeared less pleased with Guyton.

“Mickey Guyton, of all people, was like ‘Bobby Bones,'” he said, scrunching up his face.

On Sunday night’s “WWHL” episode, Hough was asked if there was a “DWTS” winner she “strongly disagreed” with. After Guyton whispered her response, Hough allowed the country star to reveal her thoughts.

“I just said Bobby Bones,” Guyton told Cohen.

“I actually agree with you, and I think it’s because of the fanbase, right? It’s all about the fanbase on that show. He was not the best dancer, I agree,” Hough stated. “But people love him.”

In the Season 27 finale, Bones and Burgess triumphed over the other finalists — Milo Manheim and Witney Carson, Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe, and Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten — by winning the audience vote in what was dubbed the “Mirrorball Miracle.”

They ended the season with their first perfect score in a freestyle dance to Panic! at the Disco’s “The Greatest Show,” a moment so unexpected that it left the duo in disbelief.

Bones and Burgess “never even received a nine before, and we got 10s,” Bones shared with USA TODAY at the time.

“I just didn’t think I was going to win,” Bones said, calling his performance the “best dancing night I have ever had in my entire life.”
