Boeing parts supplied with ‘serious defects’ revealed by whistleblower

Santiago Paredes, a former quality inspector at Spirit AeroSystems in Kansas, alleged that Boeing fuselages were frequently shipped with serious defects, including missing and bent parts. He claimed to have found up to 200 defects on parts meant for Boeing. Despite his efforts to address these issues, he was pressured to overlook them. The Federal Aviation Administration audited both companies and found manufacturing control violations. These allegations are part of a legal case against Spirit by shareholders. Boeing has agreed to financially support Spirit and is working to address quality concerns. Paredes, a former Air Force technician, expressed concerns about flying on a 737 Max due to potential flaws from the Wichita factory.
