Born Again Footage Unveils Charlie Cox’s Bloody Return

Marvel has just released its highly-anticipated 85th anniversary celebration video, thrilling fans with a first official look at Charlie Cox’s return as Matt Murdoch/Daredevil in “Daredevil: Born Again.” The title encapsulates Cox’s return to Marvel after a hiatus and ties into Daredevil’s deeply-rooted Catholic themes. Although the video offers only a brief glimpse of Cox in the heat of bloody combat, it’s enough to ignite excitement across social media for what promises to be an exhilarating series, debuting on Disney+ in 2025.

At Disney’s D23 event last month, the promotional space for “Daredevil: Born Again” was adorned with graffiti, hinting at the potential involvement of the villain Muse in the first season on Disney+. This character, created by Charles Soule and Ron Garney, made his initial appearance in 2016. Muse, a mass murderer who considered himself an artist, created murals using the blood of his victims and met his demise in Daredevil #600.

The announcement has heightened expectations among fans who have campaigned for Charlie Cox’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) since Netflix canceled “Daredevil.” Although Cox made a brief appearance as Murdoch in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” that scene did not feature Daredevil. Murdoch represented Spider-Man legally after the hero’s identity was exposed. Whether this cameo will have broader implications within the MCU remains to be seen, but it’s noteworthy that Daredevil and Spider-Man share the formidable Kingpin as an arch-nemesis.

“Daredevil: Born Again” will see Charlie Cox reprising his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, alongside a stellar cast that includes Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk. New cast members include Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Genneya Walton, and Arty Froushan.

The series is expected to start streaming on Disney+ in March 2025.
