Carrie Underwood is back and better than ever. In addition to singing, she is now adding coaching to her busy schedule. Many people think it is fitting that Carrie Underwood is the newest American Idol judge. After all, she got her start on this very stage. In an interview with Fox News, Lionel Richie, a current American Idol judge, gave his thoughts on Carrie joining the team.

He said, “She is the perfect fit. She knows exactly what this navigation is all about.” He then went on to explain how Carrie will be able to empathize with contestants. From standing on that first audition stage to making the top 20 to taking home first place, she has walked in their shoes, so she can offer coaching differently than those who haven’t.

Her fellow judge offered her this advice: “I want Carrie to come in and find her personality.” No one is expecting the Before He Cheats singer to replace Katy Perry. Rather, they want her to bring her own skills and experience to the American Idol Judge’s table and show the world what she’s got.

Carrie Underwood is not taking her new role lightly. She gave Buzz Brainard the inside scoop on how she plans to be a successful judge this season. She stated, “I think I can be honest and constructive but still kind.” She mentions that she wants to remember that she is working with people’s dreams.

She continued, “You’re a part of somebody’s story from that moment on. I think it’s important to be honest, but I think it’s also very important to be kind. Hopefully, I can marry all of those together.” We all expect nothing but the best from Carrie Underwood as she takes on her new role as an American Idol judge this season.
