CDOT reports roads in the mountains closed due to spring snowstorm

A spring snowstorm hit Colorado on Saturday, causing dangerous road conditions and safety closures. Most of Denver was expected to get rain instead of snow. However, heavy wet snow fell in the mountains, foothills, and possibly the southern metro area. Some major roads were closed due to the snow, but as of 10:20 a.m., there were no major safety closures. Road conditions varied across the state, with icy and slushy conditions on I-70 and snowpacked and icy areas elsewhere. The Pinpoint Weather Team forecasted 6 to 12 inches of snow in some areas.
