Col. Ralph Puckett, recipient of the Medal of Honor, to lie in honor in Capitol rotunda

Colonel Ralph Puckett Jr., a retired United States Army Medal of Honor recipient, was honored in a special ceremony at the U.S. Capitol rotunda after his passing at the age of 97. Puckett, known for his bravery during the Korean War, was awarded the Medal of Honor in May 2021 for his valor and leadership in defending Hill 205. He drew enemy fire and displayed extraordinary heroism to lead his troops, even when wounded. Puckett’s actions in both the Korean War and the Vietnam War earned him numerous awards, including five Purple Hearts, two Silver Stars, and two Bronze Star medals. His legacy as a true American hero was celebrated with deep respect and admiration.
