In “Oh Mary!, ” Cole Escola portrays a fictionalized, miserable alcoholic version of Abraham Lincoln’s wife, Mary Todd Lincoln. Offstage, however, the comedian garners attention for his glowing skin and fashionable ensembles, making waves as an overnight sensation.
From late-night talk shows to red carpet events, Escola’s immaculate presentation has led “The New York Times” to call him a “Red Carpet Star.” Among his many standout features, his radiant skin is perhaps the most noticeable. Despite being 37, Escola’s complexion belies his age, making him appear no older than 25.
So, what’s his secret? When first asked, Escola’s answer is a classic Hollywood non-reply: “It’s just sunscreen and avoiding the sun!” he told Variety. He also mentioned that he abstains from alcohol and is a vegan. “I don’t know, I think it’s all genes,” he added modestly.
However, when pressed for more details, Escola opened up about his skincare routine. Surprisingly, it doesn’t involve excessively pricey products. “I’m all about moisture,” he said, listing Peter Thomas Roth’s Hyaluronic Glow Serum and La Roche-Posay moisturizer as his staples. “The kind that’s cheap and it comes in a big pump that you can get at CVS or whatever.”
As for sunscreen, Escola swears by EltaMD. “The kind with hyaluronic, not with niacinamide, because niacinamide is drying to my skin,” he specified.
