Coming to Hulu in August 2024

Hulu’s most anticipated returning show is “Only Murders in the Building,” now entering its fourth season, according to TV Guide.

Another notable return is the second season of “Reasonable Doubt.” The legal drama centers on Jax Stewart, a successful Los Angeles defense lawyer played by Emayatzy Corinealdi. As Jax navigates her cases and separation from her husband Lewis, portrayed by McKinley Freeman, she encounters a recently released former client, Damon Cooke, played by Michael Ealy.

As Jax continues to recover from events in the first season, one of her best friends confesses to killing her husband in self-defense. With prosecutors doubting this claim, she enlists defense attorney Corey Cash, portrayed by Morris Chestnut, for assistance.

Returning alongside Corinealdi are Freeman, Tim Jo as Daniel, Angela Grovey as Krystal, Thaddeus J. Mixson as Spenser, and Aderinsola Olabode as Naima. New cast members include Essence Atkins as Dr. Brandy Michaels, Melissa Ponzio as Lucy Wargo, Vaughn W. Hebron as Adrian Hunter, and Kandi Burruss as Eboni Phillips.

Hulu, Only Murders in the Building, Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Steve Martin

The Emmy-winning series “Only Murders in the Building” is set to premiere on August 27. The show has received 21 Emmy nominations, with nominations for Steve Martin and Martin Short in lead actor categories, Selena Gomez for lead actress, Paul Rudd and Meryl Streep for supporting roles, and Matthew Broderick and Da’Vine Joy Randolph for guest appearances.

Created by Martin and John Hoffman, the series revolves around three strangers played by Martin, Short, and Gomez who bond over their love for true crime podcasts. They find themselves investigating murders at the Arconia, their Upper West Side apartment building, and subsequently start their own podcast, titled “Only Murders in the Building.”

In the fourth season, the trio picks up from where the third season left off involving an incident with Charles’ (Martin) stunt double and friend Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch). As they speculate who the real target was, they travel to Los Angeles, where a Hollywood studio plans to make a movie based on their podcast.

On August 28, “After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun” will premiere. This four-part documentary dives into the cultural phenomenon of “Baywatch,” exploring its impact on California beach culture and physical beauty standards, along with featuring interviews from numerous cast members. However, David Hasselhoff, the show’s star and executive producer, is notably absent. Although he has been interviewed for “Baywatch: The Documentary,” he might make an appearance here.

“Baywatch,” which became famous for its iconic slow-motion beach running scenes, aired for 11 seasons from 1989 to 2001, with Hasselhoff also starring in the spin-off “Baywatch Nights.” The show inspired three direct-to-video films and a 2017 remake movie featuring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.

As for Hulu’s August lineup, notable additions include complete seasons of shows like “Billion Dollar Wreck”, “Buddy Valastro’s Cake Dynasty,” and “Naruto Shippuden (Dubbed) Eps #450–461.” Featured movies include “The Banger Sisters” (2002), “Casino” (1995), and “Eddie Murphy: Raw” (1987).

Other highlights include “The Comedy Central Roast of James Franco” (2013) and “The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber” (2015). Additionally, “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile” (2022), “Impractical Jokers” Complete Season 8, and more will be released throughout the month.

The lineup continues with docuseries like “Food, Inc. 2” (2023), and “No Way Out: The Roulette”. Hulu will also air a variety of comedy specials, such as “Billy Wayne Davis: Testify” (2022), and classic movies like “The Guardian” (2006) and “Eragon” (2006).

This extensive August content plan showcases Hulu’s diverse range of programming, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
