Common drops huge marriage hint about girlfriend Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson’s relationship with Common has taken a significant turn recently, sparking more interest from their fans. Common dropped a hint about a potential engagement between the two, leaving many wondering if wedding bells might soon ring for the couple.

The 52-year-old rapper and the 42-year-old actress and singer officially confirmed their relationship in January after months of speculation. Since then, their bond has only grown stronger and more public.

Common first shared his feelings about marriage on The Breakfast Club. Speaking candidly, he said, “If I’m going to get married, it’s to her.” This straightforward admission highlighted the depth of his commitment to Jennifer.

He went on to discuss the unique connection they share, saying, “This is definitely – with all due respect to all the women I’ve dated ’cause it’s all love – but this is a really healthy and beautiful relationship. When you’re with somebody who’s from where you’re from, it’s a different kind of connection, too.”

After the couple confirmed their romance on The Jennifer Hudson Show in January, they have been more open about their relationship. “I’m in a relationship with one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met in life,” Common proudly declared. He praised Jennifer, noting her intelligence, faith, down-to-earth personality, and talent.

Common didn’t mention Jennifer by name but made his admiration clear: “But I set my standard kind of high because she had to have an EGOT, she had to win an Oscar on her first movie, she had to get her own talk show.” This statement highlighted Jennifer’s impressive achievements and his high regard for her.

He further expressed his contentment in their relationship, saying, “This relationship is a happy place for me. For me, it’s one of those things where I found where seeing her happy actually makes me really happy.” He emphasized his gratitude and faith, stating, “I’m very grateful. I thank God every day and I’m just letting God guide this relationship.”

This isn’t the first time Common opened up about his feelings for Jennifer. In a January appearance on Today, Hoda Kotb asked if he considered himself the marrying type. Reflecting on his personal growth, he replied, “I feel like I have grown and the work that I’ve done on myself has allowed me to see that I am a marrying type. I’m capable and have the capacity. At some point in my life, I may want to do that.”

Common elaborated, “I would know when the right time is and I think, for me, everything is divine, like, I work from that discernment that when God speaks into your stomach and you feel it in your heart and your spirit, so when I will feel that, I will communicate that with that person and if she’s feeling that, then why not?”

With a history of high-profile relationships, including ones with Eryka Badu, his “first love,” actress Taraji P. Hensen, and Serena Williams, Common’s romantic life has been well-documented. He is also a father to Omoye Assata Lynn, 27, from his relationship with ex-girlfriend, Kim Jones, which ended in 2008.

Jennifer also has her own history before meeting Common. She was in a ten-year relationship with ex-fiancé David Otunga, which began in 2007. They got engaged a year later and welcomed their son, David Daniel Otunga Jr., now 14, in 2009 before ending their relationship eight years later.

As the relationship between Jennifer and Common continues to blossom, their fans eagerly await any news of an impending engagement, with Common’s recent hints adding fuel to the fire.
