Dead whale found caught on bow of cruise ship arriving at New York City harbor

A cruise ship arrived at the Port of Brooklyn in New York City with a dead 44ft-long endangered sei whale on its bow. The incident raised concerns about the impact of large vessels on sea life. The cruise ship involved was the Meraviglia, owned by MSC Cruises, which stated that they have regulations in place to avoid collisions with whales. Authorities are conducting an examination of the whale, and a necropsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. Sei whales are protected species, and the loss of marine life is deeply regretted by the company.
