Destruction left in the wake of tornado that ripped through northeast Oklahoma

A tornado destroyed homes and toppled trees and power lines in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, as part of a series of twisters and powerful storms across the central US. The town of Bartlesville was also hit. Multiple injuries and widespread damage were reported, with people trapped in their homes. Search and rescue efforts were underway. 17,000 homes were without power. Oklahoma and Kansas were under high-risk weather warnings. The storm system was caused by strong winds and moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. The eastern US and the South were expected to continue experiencing severe weather with widespread flooding.
