Melissa O’Neil, known for her role in “The Rookie,” has thrilled fans by sharing a behind-the-scenes snapshot from the filming of season seven, which is currently taking place in Los Angeles. The actress might have also dropped a significant hint about what fans can expect in the upcoming episodes.

Using Instagram, Melissa, who portrays Lucy Chen, uploaded a black-and-white selfie in which she is wearing a helmet and a bulletproof vest. In the caption, the 35-year-old expressed, “I love my job. Feels strange to even call it that. So happy to be back with friends that feel like family. We’ve been cooking in the heat these last few days in LA, but everyone’s keeping good spirits.

“Tonight – we’re watching the US Presidential debate with everyone at basecamp right now… Head on a swivel, friends! How are you doing?”

Fans quickly caught on to Melissa’s nod to her on-screen friend Tamara, played by Dylan Conrique, who moved out of Lucy’s apartment in season six, leaving viewers curious about her future on the series.
