Disney Alum Skai Jackson Allegedly Arrested for Domestic Battery Incident

Disney Channel alum Skai Jackson has reportedly been arrested for domestic battery. According to TMZ, the 22-year-old Jessie star was with her boyfriend at Universal CityWalk on August 9 when they got into an altercation. Security noticed the argument and witnessed Jackson allegedly pushing her boyfriend twice.

Universal CityWalk security called the police, leading to Jackson’s arrest for misdemeanor domestic battery. She was cited and released just hours later, as reported by the outlet.

Jackson has not publicly responded to the incident. Notably, she attended Variety‘s Power of Young Hollywood event one day prior.

The actress gained fame for her role as Zuri Ross in Jessie and its spinoff series Bunk’d. Following her Disney Channel days, Jackson competed in Dancing With the Stars in 2020. Her latest project is the film The Man in the White Van, where she plays the role of Patty, scheduled for release in 2024.

Last year, Jackson spoke to PEOPLE about the pressures of fame. “At the end of the day, I look at myself as a regular person that people just happen to like or enjoy,” she explained in February 2023. The concept of being a role model truly resonated with her after meeting an emotional fan.

“I’ve never seen someone cry like that, and I thought, ‘You’re crying over me? Regular old me?’” Jackson recalled, highlighting the experience as an amazing feeling.

Regarding her role model status, Jackson emphasized the importance of putting out the right message, being positive, and giving great advice to her fans. “Let them know that anything they want to do in life, they can achieve it,” she said. Jackson also stressed the importance of mental health, noting that she enjoys talking to her therapist and plans to say “yes” to more positive experiences, like vacations, which boost her mood.
