Dolphin discovered deceased on beach with bullet wounds in its brain, spinal cord, and heart

A juvenile bottlenose dolphin was found shot to death with bullets in its brain, spinal cord, and heart in Louisiana. Authorities from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are offering a $20,000 reward for information on the culprit. The dolphin was found washed ashore on West Mae’s Beach and had clear signs of being shot by a firearm. The NOAA’s Office of Law Enforcement is actively investigating the case and reminds the public that harming wild dolphins is prohibited under the Marine Mammal Protection Act.
