‘DWTS’ Star Peta Murgatroyd Facing Difficult Pregnancy, Husband Reveals

Dancing With The Stars fans were both shocked and delighted when Peta Murgatroyd announced her third pregnancy. After years of struggling with infertility following the birth of their first son, Shai, she and her husband Maks Chmerkovskiy welcomed their second son, Rio, in June 2023. Just a few months after Rio’s birth, Peta revealed she was expecting again.

Peta is due to give birth very soon. However, Maks recently shared that this pregnancy has been particularly challenging for her.

Although Peta is no stranger to pregnancy, this time has been different. She’s eagerly awaiting the arrival of their third son, but Maks has mentioned that she’s more than ready to give birth now.

“Peta’s having a tough time right now. She’s nearing the finish line, and her belly is very heavy for her body and frame. This kid is a big one,” Maks told The Sun. He further explained that their third baby is expected to be their biggest yet, adding, “I feel bad for Peta.”

The couple has not publicly disclosed Peta’s due date. However, they previously mentioned it would be shortly after Rio’s first birthday. Peta shared photos from Rio’s first birthday party on June 6, suggesting the new baby could arrive any time now.

Despite the challenges, the couple is looking forward to becoming a family of five. Having three young sons will undoubtedly be a handful, but Peta and Maks feel prepared for the task.

Maks reflected on their experience, saying, “We had an incredible time with Shai, our firstborn, especially during the pandemic when we put a lot of time and attention into just him. Our relationship with Shai is extremely tight.”

The So You Think You Can Dance judge expressed a desire to build the same strong bond with his youngest sons, Rio and the new baby, despite having to divide his attention among three children. “I want to find a way to establish these connections and relationships within a whole tribe of people in the house. We’ll figure it out. They’re a lot of fun,” he said.
