The New York area experienced an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.9 that occurred near Gladstone, New Jersey, just 4 miles southwest of the area. Despite being close to the Big Apple, there were no reports of damage from the earthquake. This was the second quake to hit the area in a short period, following a rare magnitude 4.8 quake a few weeks earlier. The aftershocks of the earthquakes have been felt by residents, who expressed disbelief at experiencing earthquakes in New Jersey.
