Experts Claim Kate Middleton’s Steely Determination Gave Kids Hope Amid Cancer

As many know, Catherine, Princess of Wales, better known as Kate Middleton, has been undergoing preventative chemotherapy and is focusing on her and Prince William’s young family of five. While her children have been a source of joy for her amid these trying times, and with many in her family helping her out, many have wondered how Kate is behind closed doors. An expert claims that Kate is actually “steely” during this time to help keep everyone’s spirits up.

Royal expert Phil Dampier told The Sun, “I think Kate has got a sort of inner core of steel.” He added, “She’s quite a sort of steely character and… reminds me a little bit of late, Prince Philip.”

Dampier noted how her “inner strength” has helped throughout this year. “I think she’s very much pulled on those reserves,” he said, also noting how Kate has been a “stronger character” than William.

“[E]ven though she’s the one who’s got the illness, in many ways she will be the stronger of the two in getting through it, and mainly, of course, she wants to be strong for her children [Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis],” Dampier said. “She wants [her children] to know that she’s going to be okay and I’m sure that’s on her mind, if she’s strong enough to cope with it, then that will spread to William, and indeed to the children.”

So, if this expert is correct, they’re claiming that Kate has been the one to keep higher spirits and a “steely” approach to make sure the Wales family is okay during her cancer diagnosis.

For those who don’t know, William and Kate have been together on and off since 2003. Since their nuptials, they have since welcomed three children named George, 11, Charlotte, 9, and Louis, 6.

In a previous podcast episode of Happy Mum, Happy Baby, hosted by Giovanna Fletcher, via Town and Country, Kate talked about how she incorporates her family traditions into her parenting.

“I had an amazing Granny who devoted a lot of time to us—playing with us, doing arts and crafts, and going to the greenhouse to do gardening, and cooking with us—and I try and incorporate a lot of the experiences that she gave us at the time into the experiences that I give my children now,” she said.
