Social media platforms were flooded with support for Davidson when news of his health update broke. Fans praised him for his openness about his mental health struggles and expressed their steadfast support.

“He has never been shy about having mental health issues. Borderline personality disorder is very hard to handle. He is a strong advocate for standing up against the stigma and getting the treatment he needs and deserves. He has a deep story. Love you Pete,” one fan wrote on X. “Good for him, leave him be,” another added, while a third simply said, “Get better soon Pete!”

Comments like “I hope he gets the help he needs” and “praying for Pete” were commonly echoed across various social media platforms. Many fans remarked how they were rooting for Davidson and were glad he was seeking help.

Davidson has long been candid about his mental health issues. In January of this year, during his Netflix special Turbo Fonzerelli, he revealed that he had been using ketamine for nearly three years. He confessed to being under the influence even at major events, including Aretha Franklin’s funeral in 2018, which he attended with then-fiancée Ariana Grande.

“I was on a drug for the past two and a half, three years called ketamine. What a time,” he admitted on the show. “It’s embarrassing when you’re not on ketamine anymore… I’m embarrassed. I was out and about like that. That’s not cool, you know? I have to live with that.”

He has also spoken at length about his struggles with borderline personality disorder. During a 2017 appearance on the WTF With Marc Maron podcast, Davidson shared that he checked into a rehab center in December 2016 after experiencing severe mental breakdowns characterized by bouts of “blind rage.”

“I found out I have BPD, which is borderline personality disorder,” he explained, noting that his psychiatrists had suspected either bipolar disorder or borderline personality disorder for some time.

Davidson revealed that he consistently attends therapy sessions and acknowledged that it has significantly improved his mental health over time. “I’ve been having a lot of problems. This whole year has been a [expletive] nightmare. This has been the worst year of my life, getting diagnosed with this and trying to figure out how to learn with this and live with this,” he added.

Fans continue to show their unwavering support for Davidson, hoping that he finds the peace and stability he seeks through his ongoing treatments.
