Fast & Furious Director Progresses One-Punch Man Live-Action Movie

In June 2022, we reported that Justin Lin, known for his work on the ‘Fast & Furious’ saga, was chosen by Sony Pictures to direct a live-action adaptation of the manga ‘One-Punch Man’. Today, it has been confirmed that this project is progressing with the script being rewritten by Heather Anne Campbell and Dan Harmon, co-creator of ‘Rick & Morty’.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the live-action adaptation of ‘One-Punch Man’ is still in progress and that Dan Harmon and Heather Anne Campbell have been brought in to rewrite the script. Harmon, known for ‘Rick & Morty’, and Campbell, an actress, comedian, and screenwriter, have joined the project to enhance the script originally penned by Lin, Scott Rosenberg, and Jeff Pinkner.

Currently, there is no further information available about the film, including casting details or the release date. However, production is continuing with the new scriptwriters on board.

‘One-Punch Man’ originated as a webcomic in 2009 created by the pseudonymous author One and later transitioned into a manga illustrated by Yusuke Murata. The story follows Saitama, the most powerful superhero capable of defeating any foe with a single punch. The manga explores the consequences of being the strongest being in the world through a humorous lens.
