I-95 in Norwalk, Connecticut is closed after a fuel truck crashed and burst into flames under an overpass. Mangled vehicles, including a tanker carrying 8,500 gallons of fuel, remain on the shuttered highway. The fire caused significant damage to the overpass which must be demolished. The closure affects 160,000 vehicles per day and trucking companies are advised to use alternative routes. Crews are working to clear the site, and hazmat crews addressed spill concerns. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, and officials hope to reopen the highway by Monday morning’s commute.
